Your relationship with your partner is important, however there is no love quite like the unconditional love you have for your four-legged friends. After all, you wouldn’t let your partner get away with vomiting on the floor, chewing your favourite shoes or eating the fresh loaf of bread on the counter that you bought especially for guests. Your dogs are like your baby, and therefore you can forgive them for any and everything. We at UBEEQUEE are not here to judge, instead, we relate.

6 signs you love your dog more than your partner

In case you are not fully convinced that you do in fact love your dog more than your partner, we have some tell tale signs to prove you otherwise:

You compliment your dog all the time

‘what a good boy’; ‘so handsome’; ‘clever doggo’. Just a few of the hundreds of compliments you might give your dog on any given day, probably for doing something fairly mundane or basic like sitting. How many times a day do you compliment your partner, and would you ever compliment them for sitting?

You say hello to your dog first

You come home from a long day of work and you instantly go and greet your dog. You want to cuddle your fluffy friend and find out how their day was. Once you’re satisfied your pup had a great day, you ask your partner how theirs was.

You treat your dog all the time

New toys and gadgets (like the UBEEQUEE GPS tracker); yummy food; an extra walk – the list goes on. You don’t even think about it, you just do. Does the thought of treating your partner (other than on special occasions) to something special (or even minor) cross your mind as much as giving your dog an extra Bonio for not pulling on the lead?

You take your dog’s illness seriously

When your dog is sick, you will take him straight to the vets. Your dog must have the best care possible and be pampered and checked on all day. Your partner is sick and you tell them to take a paracetamol and have a nap. If they are a man, you might just downplay their illness as man flu and tell him that they should get over it.

You tell your dog all your problems

Dogs are excellent listeners, and most importantly, they don’t talk back (or tell you you’re wrong). You can unload everything that’s been on your mind and they won’t interrupt or tell you to ‘see things from there view’. They simply let you vent. Your partner on the other hand will undoubtedly be more vocal.

You constantly document your dog

Pictures; videos; paintings. Your dog is a huge part of your social media presence. Whilst you might upload the occasional post about your partner, realistically your page is all about your dog. And who can blame you? Dogs are much cuter and more photogenic.

These are just a few of the signs that you love your dog more than your partner. But don’t feel too guilty, I’m sure your partner feels exactly the same (after all, you are co-parents!).
